A peaceful, private 3-bedroom villa in Areias dos Moinhos
Casa Hera is a comfortable, well-loved 3-bedroom villa tucked into a quiet cul-de-sac in Areias dos Moinhos - around a 15-minute walk down into the centre of Carvoeiro, or a 3-minute drive (and an easy €5 taxi ride back up).
Set behind secure gates with parking for several cars, the villa is not overlooked and genuinely private. With air conditioning throughout, a generous 9.5 x 5-metre pool, and three different outdoor dining spots, it's a wonderful base for a family or two couples sharing.
The villa sleeps up to 6 adults (or any mix of adults and children), plus 1 baby in a cot. Cot and highchair are provided free of charge.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
There are three bedrooms, two doubles (one en suite) and one twin, all air-conditioned, with plenty of cupboard space and extra bedding to hand. Two bathrooms in total, including the en suite to the main bedroom.
Living Space
The spacious lounge has comfortable seating for six, a flat-screen TV with a wide range of international IPTV channels, and a fast fibre-optic Wi-Fi connection (included). A wood-burner takes the chill off cooler evenings, making the villa a genuine option for shoulder-season and winter stays. Patio doors open onto the pool terrace.
Kitchen
A well-equipped kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, kettle and toaster - everything you need for a relaxed home-from-home stay. Maid service is included in the rental price.
Pool & Outdoor Areas
The pool is a real feature: 9.5 x 5 metres, with a 2-metre deep end that makes it genuinely swimmable rather than just paddleable. A spacious open terrace surrounds it, set with sunbeds and parasols. Pool heating is available as an optional extra for the cooler months.
There are two further outdoor spaces, both with their own purpose-built BBQs:
A permanent tiled poolside seating area off the lounge, perfect for long lunches.
A peaceful internal courtyard alcove with tiled benches, table and chairs — a shaded spot for quieter moments.
The villa stays cool naturally, even on the hottest days.

Areias dos Moinhos is a quiet residential area on the edge of Carvoeiro, the kind of neighbourhood where you can hear the cicadas at lunchtime.
The walk down into the village takes around 15 minutes, mostly downhill; the walk back up is real exercise, but the local taxi rank in the centre will get you home for around €5 if the legs have done enough. Many guests download a local taxi app and use it for evenings out.
Once a fishing village, Carvoeiro has grown into a thriving holiday resort while keeping much of its old-town charm, whitewashed houses, painted boats, and a clifftop walk that traces the coast east toward the Algar Seco rock formations. The village has its own beach, plenty of cafés and restaurants, a diving centre, and boat trips out to the famous caves and grottos at Benagil and Marinha. Live music plays in the main square through the summer months.
Within around 15 minutes by car you'll find Slide & Splash water park and Zoomarine, where the children can swim with dolphins. Three championship 18-hole golf courses are around 10 minutes away, alongside the daily market town of Lagoa.
